To visit these towns, we recommend resorting to one of the car rental companies in Cádiz and touring the province.

What to see in the province of Cadiz

Conil and Vejer de la Frontera

Near the “border” with the old Kingdom of Granada, which is why this term appears in its name, are the towns of Conil and Vejer de la Frontera, two of the typical white towns that can be found in Andalusia.

Conil de la Frontera stands out not only for the white color of its houses but also for its spectacular beaches on the Costa de la Luz, such as Los Bateles or Castilnovo.

A few kilometers away is Vejer de la Frontera, one of the most beautiful towns in southern Spain. Among its white houses we can enjoy its steep cobbled streets and typical patios. In this town is also the Playa de El Palmar.

Sanlucar de Barrameda and Doñana Park

The beautiful city of Sanlúcar de Barrameda is located about 28km from the city of Cádiz and is one of the best places you can travel to in Cádiz and a key point in the history of Spain thanks to its port from which Magellan and Elcano on his return to the world.

Among the monuments that we can visit in Sanlúcar de Barrameda are the Church of Nuestra Señora de la O, the Palace of Orleans, the Palace of the Dukes of Medina-Sidonia or the Castle of Santiago.

But the great jewel found next to this town is the Doñana National Park, one of the best green spaces in Spain whose marshes are a must.

Setenil de las Bodegas and Olvera

Another of the curious towns to which we can make an excursion from Cádiz is Setenil de las Bodegas. It is without a doubt a town that will surprise you and will not leave you indifferent.

The town of Setenil de las Bodegas is built under an immense rock that makes thousands of tourists visit it every year. For this reason, in high season you will have to arm yourself with patience to walk through the crowded Calle Cuevas del Sol.

It is located about 135km from Cádiz and your visit can be complemented with other nearby towns such as Olvera, where the spectacular Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación stands out, rising above the white houses.

Grazalema and its mountains

Near the previous town is Grazalema, another of the white towns of Cádiz, located next to the Sierra de Grazalema, a natural wonder to visit in this area. As a curiosity, it should be noted that Grazalema is the town in Spain where it rains the most. And yes, it is not next to the Bay of Biscay, but in Andalusia.

Nearby is another of the best towns to see in Cádiz, Zahara de la Sierra, located under a hill where the Castle of Arab origin is located. You also have to get lost in its narrow streets to enjoy a beautiful town.

There are many other places to visit in the province of Cádiz, such as Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María or Chipiona. You can visit all of them by renting a car or van at Furauto.
