The great cultural offer of Vienna, in relation to museums, is infinite. In this beautiful city we can find more than 100 museums, a variety that should satisfy all cultural tastes and with which you can enjoy for many days in the Austrian capital.
However, here we are going to focus on the 3 main museums that we can find in Vienna, all very close to each other and located around the famous Ringstrasse.
But they are not the only ones, what is your favorite museum?
Visit the Vienna Art History Museum
In the Vienna Art History Museum we find a great infinity of works of art that the Habsburg dynasty have accumulated over many centuries.
The museum’s works were previously in other palaces, such as the Belvedere or the Hofburg, but they were moved in 1891 when this interesting museum was built.
Although on the ground floor of the museum we find an important collection of Egyptian and Oriental art, the most interesting part of it is found on the first floor.
This is the pinacoteca, where we can find interesting works by Titian, Rubens, Vermeer, Velázquez, Rembrandt and the world’s largest collection of Brueghel.
In this museum is also the Vienna Kunstkammer, the collection of 2,100 precious objects that the Habsburgs have been storing for years. A priceless collection.

The Natural History Museum
The building that houses the Natural History Museum is completely the same as the one that houses the Art History Museum and both are located opposite each other next to the Ringstrasse.
In this museum, which has 20 million objects, we can go through the natural history of our planet from the precious stones and minerals that take us to the origins of the Earth to the collection of different stuffed animals, many of them already extinct.
There are even sculptures like the Venus of Willendorf, a fertility statuette that is over 24,000 years old and is one of the jewels of the Natural History Museum in Vienna.

The Albertina Museum is located between the Hofburg Palace and the Vienna State Opera, next to the famous Hotel Sacher, on the remains of the old Viennese city wall.
Among the spectacular works that we can see in the 16 rooms of the permanent exhibition of the Albertina Museum are the Hare or Hands in Prayer, both by Dürer. But there are also works by Cezanne, Picasso or Klimt, making this museum a benchmark for painting over the last 130 years.
