In its interior is the beautiful Plaza de España of the city of Seville and it is an ideal place to rest, walk, play sports or relax. Sevillians and tourists come to it every day in search of that tranquility that this place offers you.

What to see in the Maria Luisa Park

Seville - Maria Luisa ParkThese beautiful gardens were donated in 1893 by the Duchess of Montpellier, the Infanta María Luisa Fernanda de Borbón.

Until then they belonged to the private gardens of the San Telmo Palace and after a major reform they have been available to anyone who wishes to visit them since 1914, when they were inaugurated.

The reform was carried out respecting the layout that the Infanta gardens originally had and the numerous walks intersect in various roundabouts where we can find fountains and statues.

It could be considered an authentic open-air museum that is worth visiting. The central axis is formed by Mount Gurugú, made up of the Fountain of the Lions, the Isleta de los Patos and the Pond of the Lotuses. Together they form a beautiful set that will amaze you.

Among an immense grove made up of elms or acacias, completed with rose bushes and shrubs, we can find the Plaza de América, where the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs, the Royal Pavilion and the Archaeological Museum are located, buildings built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929.

Inside the Parque de María Luisa we can also find the well-known Plaza de España and among its roundabouts the Quintero Brothers, the Gustavo Adolfo Becquer and the Infanta María Luisa stand out.
