If you have more days you can read our article in which we tell you what to visit in Seville in three days.
What to see in Seville in 2 days
What to visit on the first day in Seville
We are going to start the two-day visit to Seville next to the main monument of the city, the Giralda, the best-known tower in the city and perhaps in Spain. You can get there on foot if you are staying in the city center, by Metro to the Puerta de Jerez station or by parking in the car park under this same square.
Next to the Giralda is the Cathedral of Seville, in fact it is part of it. It is the largest cathedral in Spain and visiting it, one of the best things to do in Seville, both inside and out, is a must.
After visiting the interior of the Cathedral of Seville, where the Tomb of Christopher Columbus or the Alabaster Chapel stand out, and climbing the Giralda to have great views, you must visit the Patio de los Naranjos, located outside but still in the Cathedral precinct.
Nearby is the Archivo de Indias, the next destination on our tour, which together with the Cathedral and the Reales Alcázares form an extraordinary World Heritage Site.
Visiting the Archivo de Indias will surprise you, but the following destination, one of the best things to see in Seville in two days, will leave you speechless. These are the Reales Alcázares, a set of palaces and rooms of different styles ranging from Mudejar to Gothic, completed to perfection with spectacular gardens where you will breathe tranquility and believe you have been transported several centuries back.
After visiting this great complex, something that will have taken you a good part of the day, you will be able to explore this beautiful part of Seville, tasting its famous tapas and doing the shopping you want in the most commercial part of the city, in the surroundings of the Plaza Nueva..
Calle Sierpes, the most famous of these shopping streets, starts from there and after losing yourself in the network of alleys you can end the day at the Metropol Parasol, the curious construction also called Setas de la Encarnación, which you should climb to have beautiful views of the city.
What to visit in Seville on the second day
We can start this second day in Seville again at the Puerta de Jerez but this time to visit the opposite side of it, walking towards one of the most beautiful places in Seville, the Plaza de España.
But before getting there, you can enjoy other extraordinary places such as the Palacio de San Telmo, which is the seat of the Presidency of the Junta de Andalucía, or the Real Fábrica de Tabacos, another place that is also worth a visit.
Next to it is the Prado de San Sebastián, a prelude to the large park that we are about to continue, also very pleasant and from where you can already see the Plaza de España.
Leaving aside the Monument to Cid Campeador and the Lope de Vega Theatre, we finally arrive at the Plaza de España, one of the most beautiful in our country and, without a doubt, the most beautiful in Seville. This square is a tribute to all the provinces of Spain with a unique architecture that simulates the embrace of the Guadalquivir River with a beauty that cannot be described and that you will only admire if you visit it.
The María Luísa Park is the next destination. An open-air museum with lakes, century-old trees, precious plants, possibilities to take a ride in a carriage and a delight for Sevillians and visitors.
Inside we can admire the Plaza de América, another great wonder. An interesting activity to do in Seville is to buy guided tours and tickets to museums, such as the one for Parque de María Luísa.
After this visit you can leave the park and go to the river, where the Aquarium is located and take a walk along it until you reach the Torre del Oro, another of the most famous monuments to see in Seville.
You can end the day enjoying Sevillian gastronomy, a flamenco show or getting lost in the Barrio de Triana, one of the most genuine neighborhoods in the city that will immerse you in the most classic atmosphere of Seville.
