It is not located in the capital of Madrid, but in the town of San Martín de Valdeiglesias in an enviable setting and is one of the best things to do in Madrid.
What to see in The Enchanted Forest
The Enchanted Forest is a very interesting botanical garden where you will find numerous plants, some of which have not yet shown their maximum splendor as it is a very new park.
In total they have more than 500 plant species from around the world that you can enjoy if you are a botany fan.
But in addition, the Enchanted Forest is a special place where fantasy plays a very important role.
Among those 500 species of plants you will find labyrinths, streams, sculptures and even a natural waterfall, the Cascada de Barbellido, one of the beauties of the Sierra Norte de Madrid.
Without a doubt, its sculptures made by important artists are what most attract the attention of this place.
They are made with plants and there are about 300 throughout the park distributed according to the areas in which the Enchanted Forest is divided.
These areas correspond to the Birds, the friends of Man, the Forest, Music, Inventions, Prehistory or Tales.
Without a doubt, a good place to enjoy a magical atmosphere with total tranquility and the best thing to do in Madrid with children, which they will be able to enjoy more than anyone else.
The Park offers areas with picnic areas shaded by pines and oaks, rest areas next to fountains and a pizzeria kiosk available on weekends with a terrace, providing the visitor with the ideal complement to spend an unforgettable and pleasant day.
Open all year round, so that in each season you discover something different about this privileged place, from the flowery spring, to the colorful autumn or the intense green of winter through the summer where most plants bear their fruits, some of them surprising.
How to get to The Enchanted Forest
The first thing to say is that access to this place is not easy at all because of how poorly indicated it is.
It is located about 75 km from the center of Madrid and to get there you have to go by car on the M-501, the Autovía de los Pantanos.
When you get to San Martín de Valdeiglesias, you must go along the ring road and after passing one of the roundabouts you will see a Romanesque church.
Right there is the path that takes you to the Enchanted Forest. But to catch it, you must go to the next roundabout and go back in the opposite direction.
